Our History:
J A Dinte Pty Ltd was started by
Julius Dinte in 1930 at the age of 24. During the Great Depression
Julius was employed as an apprentice foundry man. When the Depression
became entrenched Julius's boss who had two apprentices informed
the boys that there was not nearly enough work to keep them both
employed. However he did offer them alternate work days.
Julius was a young married man with a son and as well as his day
job he was also an accomplished Jazz musician who played the banjo
in a band in clubs at night. He unselfishly gave up his day job
to the other apprentice as Julius had another avenue of income
that was not available to the other employee. The love of casting
however remained in his blood. As part of his band there was a
gentleman who played the Hawaiian guitar. During those tough years
it was extremely difficult to purchase the slides that are used
on that particular instrument. Julius built a mould for the slide
and melted the metal on his mothers stove in a small flat in Bondi,
Sydney Australia.
A great business was started.
His oldest child Ron, entered the business in 1945 at the age
of 17 and continued to grow the foundry business to a new level.
At all times keeping up with the latest available technology and
process's, Ron travelled the world to attend international foundry
conferences ensuring that what he was doing was always the best,
safest and most economical method of manufacture.
Unfortunately these two great men are no longer with us. Julius
passed away in 1972 and Ron in 1985.
However the third generation of Dintes were already involved in
the foundry. Michael, and Anthony, two of Ron's sons chose the
foundry as their professions in 1972 and 1976 respectively. Throughout
the last thirty year period the business has grown further in
size and diversified into other areas which now comprise the Dinte
Group of Companies. As well as casting the brothers have also
built and run a golf putter business, a golf course supply business
and an advertising business.
These golf companies, which come under the DINT brand have grown
to be an integral part of the golf industry in this country. Being
the exclusive supplier to the PGA Tour of Australasia has given
DINT the credibility that it deserves. The tradition continues
with Michael's oldest son Adam joining the golf business in 2004
after studying a course at University in Leisure Management.

Today responsibilities have to be divided and Michael is the Managing
Director of J A Dinte Pty Ltd and Chairman of the Dinte Group
of Companies with Anthony being the Managing Director of DINT
Australia Pty Ltd.
